Customer Spotlight: Hand Hewn Box Beams in Texas New Build

At Southend Reclaimed, we work with customers all over the country, which means we don't always get to meet face to face. But working as a team, utilizing our customized videos and pictures, and communicating in real-time with the customers allows us to provide the highest quality reclaimed materials that are absolutely perfect for their project - wherever it may be. This was the case with the Anderson Family, who was building a new home in Texas and needed to source reclaimed materials to achieve their vision.

"We were aiming for an old-world farmhouse aesthetic in our new Texas build, and using reclaimed materials, especially antique hand-hewn beams, felt like the perfect way to bring that vision to life. The character and history in reclaimed wood really add a unique warmth and authenticity to the space.

We found Southend Reclaimed while researching companies that specialize in high-quality reclaimed wood products. After coming across your website, reading great things from others, and talking with Jason, we knew Southend was the right fit for our project."

The Andersons knew that they wanted the antique hand hewn look, and due to the construction style of the home, box beams were the best choice. Because they are hollow, Box Beams are much easier to install than solid beams and are perfect in new construction homes that don't call for structural placement of solid wood beams.
"We watched videos on your website that talked about the process of how the box beams were made and it looked to fit the bill. We were a bit nervous ordering something so expensive sight unseen and even debated flying out to view them prior to shipment, but the pictures Jason provided us gave us confidence that they were as advertised. Honestly, they turned out better than we could have imagined; we had been worried that you'd see the seams or corners but in person no one else even knows they're made up from faces of multiple beams until we explain it to them!""
