Southend Reclaimed Barnwood Featured on HGTV’s Property Brothers

Southend Reclaimed Property Brothers Excitement was in the air at Southend Reclaimed when the crew from Property Brothers reached out to us for some antique barnwood! Jonathan and Drew Scott, better known as "The Property Brothers," are known for transforming fixer-uppers into dream homes for families. Each episode starts out similarly enough, with the brothers asking a couple what features they would like most in their dream home. The couple is then taken to a gorgeous house which has everything they could ever dream of and more, but the only problem is that it is almost always out of their price range. The Brothers then show the couple several older homes that are in need of some work, and in the end are able to prove to them that old things can actually be even better than new. This is something that we at Southend Reclaimed can agree with, seeing as how the heart of our company is taking something old and soon-to-be discarded, and giving it new life. One of the brothers' most recent transformations took place in New York - where the challenge would be turning a dull basement into a stylish, functional living space. Southend Reclaimed was called upon to supply reclaimed barn siding which would be used to create an accent wall behind a new workspace, and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY (if we do say so ourselves)! This gorgeous wood was reclaimed from a barn in Pennsylvania that was built in the late 1800s. It was the actual siding on the exterior of the barn, so the grey patina is 100% natural from over a century of weathering.
