Customer Spotlight: Modern Farmhouse, Made Authentic

Modern farmhouse style has taken the design world by storm with bright, airy spaces, clean lines, and just the right touch of rustic charm. But for these homeowners, the goal wasn’t just to capture the look. They wanted the real thing. By incorporating antique reclaimed wood from actual barns, they brought in the history, texture, and character that can’t be faked, giving their modern farmhouse both style and soul.

"The vision for our home was to create a true modern farmhouse, not just in looks but in feel. We wanted to blend modern touches with traditional pieces you’d find on a real farm. Reclaimed wood was the perfect choice to tie the rooms together and carry a consistent theme throughout the house."

"We first heard about Southend Reclaimed through our neighbors while searching for a reclaimed wood supplier. Their product availability, expertise, and installation services made them an easy choice. The Concept Cottage Design Center was a huge selling point too, since it was so helpful to see materials in different room settings. We fell in love with the Original Face Skip Planed Reclaimed Oak Flooring they had installed.

In addition to the Original Face Skip Planed Reclaimed Oak Solid Plank Flooring and matching floor mount vents, the Mateys also decided to incorporate some Reclaimed Hand Hewn Box Beams and a Reclaimed Hand Hewn Solid Mantel, as well as Weathered Grey Barnsiding and Original Face Wall Planking in different areas of the home.

"From design to installation, the process was seamless. Southend worked closely with our builder to make sure everything came together perfectly, which made the experience even easier. We've already recommended Southend Reclaimed to friends and will continue to do so!"

We loved working with the Matey family to bring home their vision for a true modern farmhouse. By using authentic reclaimed barnwood, we were able to add the unique character and warmth that makes their home rich with history and heart.
