Project Spotlight: Floor to Ceiling Reclaimed Wood in Amazing Sunroom!

We worked with a lot of customers on a lot of different projects in 2021, but this one really stands out! Alisa contacted us to source reclaimed wood for the porch she planned to convert to a sunroom...and she wanted reclaimed wood EVERYWHERE. We are, of course, reclaimed wood fanatics, but even we hadn't worked on a project that had reclaimed wood quite literally from floor to ceiling. But Alisa had a very specific vision that combined "farm" with "mountain resort", and we were going to help her achieve it!

We worked with her to choose materials that complimented each other, but that were different enough to create visual variation and prevent everything from running together. The end result truly left us in awe! When you walk into the space, it is open and airy, but cozy and retreat-like, all at the same time. Floor to ceiling windows let in natural light all day long which highlights the colors and character marks of the Original Face Skip Planed Reclaimed Oak Flooring, Reclaimed Naily Hemlock Wall Planking and Original Face Reclaimed Oak Ceiling Planking. The Oak Ceiling Planking carries outside underneath the covered porch to blend both spaces together into one, cohesive living space that can be enjoyed year-round.

"When I decided to close in my porch and create a sunroom, I knew that I wanted a space that felt and looked different from the rest of the house. I wanted the room to feel like a retreat...a warm and cozy space that was somewhat of a mixture of a farm and a mountain resort. Reclaimed wood checked all of the boxes! After searching online for reclaimed wood suppliers in the Charlotte area, I found Southend Reclaimed. Paul Atkinson was very helpful and made the process easy. He helped me to pick out materials that flowed well together but offered variation so that the flooring, walls and ceiling didn't all look the same and overwhelm the space. The bold, white trim work and floor to ceiling windows break up all the wood nicely and everything works together to create the exact retreat I envisioned."
