When Tom and Maureen Link decided to renovate their mountain home, they came to Southend Reclaimed to source authentic reclaimed materials with a story to tell. After learning what they needed for the space, we began going over flooring and beam options that fit their needs and budget. The Links ultimately decided to go with our beautiful Original Face Reclaimed Oak Flooring, Mixed Hardwoods Antique Hand Hewn Beams and an Antique Hand Hewn Beam Mantel to tie it all together. The materials fit so seamlessly in the home that it's almost as if they've been there all along.
“When we began the process of renovating our mountain cottage, we knew that we wanted flooring and beams with as much character as the home itself. As soon as I walked into Southend Reclaimed, I knew this would be where we purchased our product. It was wonderful to work with someone who actually understands and has a passion for reclaimed wood, and knows how to use it in a space. Paul Atkinson is that person. He explained the different options and finishes and was respectful of our budget.
Our project required engineered wood flooring in the basement which initially concerned me, but Paul assured us that the engineered wood flooring would look just like the solid plank flooring that we were putting on the main floor, and we're so pleased that you truly cannot tell the difference! Our contractor was not experienced with installing reclaimed products, but we reached out to Paul and he communicated directly with our contractor so that he knew how to properly install and care for the wood. The end result is a unique, beautiful space filled with history and character, and everyone who comes into our home immediately comments on the floors and the beams.
