Customer Spotlight: Wormy Chestnut & Hand Hewn Beams in Lakefront Remodel
Bill and Sharon came to our Concept Cottage Design Center all the way from Ohio with their eyes set on the rare and gorgeous Antique Wormy Chestnut flooring. Although they looked at all of the flooring options, they ultimately went with Reclaimed Antique Wormy Chestnut Engineered Flooring, matching stair treads and floor vent covers, and Antique Reclaimed Hand Hewn Box Beams.
"We've always loved antique furniture and have thought about Antique Chestnut flooring for years. When we found this home, built 20 years ago, we loved the lake view so much that we decided to remodel and turn it into our dream home, and we started looking for Chestnut flooring right away."
"We found Southend Reclaimed online after a local mill couldn't provide what we were wanting. At the Concept Cottage Design Center, we met with Paul and he answered all of our questions and gave us the pros and cons of the different products. Paul obviously loves what he does; this makes working with him very easy!"
One of the many advantages of having reclaimed wood flooring in a home is how well it accommodates everyday wear and tear. The character on the planks from many, many decades disguises scuffs, dings and dust with ease. Bill and Sharon have two Chocolate Labs that track in water and snow, and of course as any dog owner knows, hair can be a problem! But the flooring is very forgiving and perfect for their family.
"Now that the flooring is installed, we love it and have no regrets. You can see all of the Chestnut from the front door as well as the beautiful Antique Hand Hewn Beams. It is everything we hoped it would be and we would absolutely recommend Southend Reclaimed to anyone looking for reclaimed products for their home."
